YMAA was charted in 2015 and is the largest youth-led Alzheimer’s 501 (c)(3) non-profit in the nation. Their main goals are to spread awareness about the disease as well as help to fundraise and care for those affect by its vicious symptoms. The chapter’s founder and president, Matthew Coulter a pre-med student at the University of Pittsburgh, hopes that as the chapter grows they will be able to hold many different fundraisers and advocacy events as well as participate in local events such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

YMAA also provides the opportunity to create their own events such as Cure the Cloud Advocacy Month in March, where members will take to social media as well as the streets of Pittsburgh and engage with the community in order to garner support and bring attention to the cause.
