Former weather anchorman, Jon Burnett, is facing a major health challenge and recently received a diagnosis of suspected chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). CTE can only officially be diagnosed with an autopsy of the brain upon death, so it is rare to have the opportunity to talk with someone who has what’s presumed to be CTE. Jon is participating in a study at the National Sports Brain Bank at the University of Pittsburgh. The director of the Brain Bank is Julia Kofler, neuropathologist and Co-Director of the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC).
