Supporting People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) and Their Families: Strategies & Resources

Course Objectives:

♦Understand risks associated with caregiving and be
familiar with a caregiver burden screening tool
♦ Become aware of ADRD’s impact on people related to
gender, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity,
and citizenship
♦ Know how to apply active listening to empathic/
supportive communication skills for persons with ADRD
and their families
♦Become aware of formal resources and strategies to
use both formal and informal resources to meet needs

Program is open at no cost to community providers working with persons who have ADRD
or their caregivers.

Program is approved for CE’s

♦ 3.0 for PA L/CSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychology
♦ 2.5 Nursing
No cost for the first 40 professional registrants;  $10 for all others.
