The Alzheimer’s Outreach Program (AOP) is the community outreach entity of the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC).
With office and meeting spaces at UPMC Montefiore and in the Hill House Center, the AOP has been a part of the local community since 1992. The mission of the Alzheimer’s Outreach Program is to increase the awareness of Alzheimer’s disease in the African American community.
The AOP aims to educate by making programming and literature available to the community about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The AOP provides a variety of community educational programs about aging, dementia and related topics. Meetings of the ADRC Community Advisory Council and monthly caregiver support group are held at Hill House Center. Support Group meetings are held the last Tuesday of every month from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
