In a recent article on MedToday.com Kristina Fiore interviewed former ADRC Director, Steven DeKosky, MD, about his role in research on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in professional football players and on events portrayed in the film “Concussion”.

In response to to the question “Tell us about your first encounter with Mike Webster’s brain”, DeKosky replied:

“Bennet [Omalu] initially brought the brain to my office in a container, and we had a discussion about what stain to do, since we knew he had been cognitively impaired. I took some tissue and sent it over to the human genetics group that was doing the APOE testing for the Alzheimer’s center, trying to figure out if he had early onset Alzheimer’s.”
