Alzheimer’s Disease: Engaging Families and Communities in Response to a Growing Health Crisis
Dr. Goldie S. Byrd
Dr. Goldie Byrd is Professor of Biology and Director Center for Outreach in Alzheimer’s Aging and Community Health. She is the former Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at North Carolina A&T State University. She also completed is an adjunct faculty at Duke in the Department of Medicine. In 2008 she became the Nathan F. Simms Endowed Distinguished Professor of Biology. Dr. Byrd has raised more than $60 million in research, research training, scholarships and endowments. She serves on state and national boards, and consults with the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the North Carolina Biotechnology Center and the Alzheimer’s Association.
