Alzheimer Outreach & Resource Center

The Alzheimer’s Outreach & Resource Center (AORC)

The Alzheimer’s Outreach & Resource Center (AORC) serves as the hub for outreach for the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer Disease Research Center (ADRC). Located in the Hill House Center, the AORC has been a part of the community since 1992. The mission of the Alzheimer’s Outreach & Resource Center is to increase the awareness of Alzheimer’s disease in the African American community.

The AORC aims to educate by making literature available to the community about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.  The AORC also serves as the venue for a variety of community educational programs about Aging, Dementia and related topics and is the physical space for meetings of the ADRC Community Advisory Council and a monthly caregiver support group.  Support group meetings are held the last Tuesday of every month from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.  For more information about the support group call the ADRC at 4123-692-2700.
